All Caught Up: CELINE pilates, Cannes Lions hypocrisy, in-office surveillance
J’adore FENTY
I just feel like if you have a CELINE kettlebell I never want to hear a complaint from you. Anyway hi, how is everyone doing?
This week's picks include Alessandro Michele's Valentino debut, Netflix House and Wonyoungism.

The rumors were true: Rihanna has replaced Charlize Theron as the face of Dior J'Adore. Speculation suggests that the campaign, shot by Steven Klein and scheduled for release this September, was filmed at Versailles (see: the gold gown here).
Also (!) important to note that this is technically an in-house collaboration, as LVMH owns both Fenty Beauty and Dior J'Adore.
I feel the Citrush! Interview x Boy Smells threw a poppers-filled Pride party for their newest candle: Citrush, made of citrus high of pomelo, black pepper and musk.
Baggu x Collina Strada… Baggu knows their audience fr fr.
JPMorgan is betting big on weight loss drugs.
Fandoms can be scary for many reasons, including the glorification of eating disorders... Enter Wonyoungism, or "The Wonyoung Effect." This movement, inspired by K-Pop star Jang Wonyoung of the South Korean girl group IVE, has gained popularity on social media and emphasizes physical appearance, productivity and… consumerism. Exploring this led me to this TikTok comparing eating disorder culture during the Tumblr era to now and… she ate.
Milani Cosmetics is the latest beauty brand to team up with female athletes. Their Make It Last® Setting Spray campaign includes WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu, gymnast Jordan Chiles, volleyball player Chiaka Ogbogu and weightlifter Mattie Rogers. Tbh this is a huge win for them!
Coca-Cola, the world's largest plastic polluter, won a Grand Prix at Cannes, a top creative industry award, for an ad promoting recycling. Lol. h/t Rick Evans for this one.
Fashion "fans" are upset with Alessandro Michele's surprise Valentino Resort 2025 collection. While Bryan Yambao's (aka Bryanboy) response cleared, I think we can all agree that 170+ looks are way too many.
The future of secondhand fashion is here. Truss is creating a data infrastructure for the entire secondhand market, accessible via photos. Upload a picture and get comprehensive information about any fashion item. TRUSS identifies the exact model and provides details in seconds.
Wells Fargo fired over a dozen employees for "simulating keyboard activity." Major employers (like Wells Fargo) now use surveillance tools to ensure employees are at their computers, regardless of where they work.

How many photos of dinner party spreads do you have from your childhood? Probably not many. I enjoyed this take on regretting what’s in your camera roll because you’re curating a life on Instagram.
SKIMS strikes again with Nicola Coughlan of Bridgerton, lensed by Elizaveta Podorina.
Are banks just really bad at negotiating deals? First, the Apple Card lost Goldman Sachs money and now the Bilt card is losing Wells Fargo money.
Enjoyed this from the NYT on the mainstream-ing of ‘ethnic’ flavors and ‘ethnic’ grocery stores!
Influencers can make their insights public (to brands) on their profiles vs. within Creator Marketplace.
Our new ‘religions’ are sorely missing morals.
One of the most annoying weeks on the internet was the week the Solo Stove and Snoop campaign dropped. Again, a celebrity is not an idea, but it seems like this one worked – just not as quickly as anticipated. Lots of C-Suite shuffling and drama ensued – CEO was fired, CFO made a statement, then retracted it.
But! CAC went down and sales did go up – just not at the clip the brand imagined, perhaps. Reporting from WARC and Ad Age: “The effort reduced Solo Stove’s customer acquisition cost by 22% and increased sales by 31% in just four weeks.” The item is a few hundred bucks. It’s gonna take time.Netflix is reinventing the mall, I guess.
CELINE launched a Pilates collection. I am *not* the target audience.

The comments on this article about diversity in the ad industry are so ugly.
