Such an interesting read. I feel this and it hurts. "We were sold a version of womanhood that maybe doesn't exist. And then you become a woman and it's like you're not doing enough at work. You're not doing enough for your boyfriend or your family or your kids or yourself. You're not fit enough. You're not beautiful enough. You need botox. You need this. You have to be this. You have to be that."
This was such a cathartic read as someone who is childfree by choice but is conscious that my 'choice' is determined by the sociopolitics of our time. I grew up conservative and was raised to be a wife and mom and agonize for being raised for a world that doesn't exist.
Also as someone who is religious and chronically online, I agree with the internet as a new religion. Also, it IS weird to meet "offline" people cause I feel they aren't in tuned with the world as much as I am. Something about being online allows us to break the fourth wall of pretending to live in a 'normal' society. My offline friends are white and middle class so I feel resentment towards them making that choice.

The media messaging can be so disheartening, and ripples outward. Thank you for reading!
